The Women in Innovation Awards 2025/26 is a prestigious flagship program organized by Innovate UK, which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). This highly competitive initiative is designed to support women founders and co-founders in scaling their innovation-driven businesses, fostering leadership in innovation, and helping to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by society today. What is on the offer?

Successful applicants will be awarded a comprehensive 12-month support package that includes:

• Up to £75,000 in grant funding: This financial support is intended to help scale innovative products or services, develop new technologies, or expand market reach.
• Bespoke business mentoring, training, and networking: Tailored guidance from industry experts, structured training sessions to hone leadership skills, and opportunities to connect with peers, potential partners, and industry leaders.
• Opportunities for role-modeling and investor introductions: Visibility as a leading woman innovator, which can open doors to mentorship, speaking engagements, and investor interest.
• Access to additional promotional and investment-readiness support: Resources and coaching to prepare for future funding rounds, improve pitch strategies, and increase media visibility.

Highly commended applicants who do not secure the grant funding will still receive valuable bespoke business support, mentorship opportunities, and access to networks that can significantly benefit their venture’s growth.

Who Can Apply

This competition is specifically targeted at women founders or co-founders who:

• Lead a UK-registered micro, small, or medium enterprise (SME): Your business must be officially registered and operate within the UK.
• Are based in the UK: Applicants should reside and operate within the United Kingdom.
• Are running a late-stage start-up: Your business should be at a growth-ready stage, with a clear plan for scaling.
• Have an innovation in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, digital technology, life sciences, energy, sustainability, or other high-impact, innovative industries.
• Are prepared to engage actively in a 12-month support journey: This includes participating in mentoring, training, and networking activities.
• Are committed to acting as role models: You will be encouraged to inspire and support future women innovators and entrepreneurs.
