About the fellowship
The JAWS Health Reporting Fellowship is designed for early-career journalists who identify as women and are passionate about health reporting. As a fellow, you will have the opportunity to produce an in-depth health story project, receive mentorship, training and financial support.

Eligibility
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a woman (or identifying as a woman) in the United States
• Have between 2 to 7 years of professional journalism experience
• Be a staff reporter or freelancer across all mediums, including print, digital, audio, and visual

What You Will Receive
As a fellow, you will receive:

• A reporting stipend of $4,000
• Mentorship from an experienced health journalist
• A 1.5-day in-person training workshop
• Webinars on health reporting topics
• Complimentary registration and travel to the JAWS CAMP conference, valued at $3,500
• A 1-year complimentary membership to JAWS

Key Dates and Comments

• Application deadline: Friday, December 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. Eastern Time
• Complete a major reporting project by July 31, 2026, and publish it by August 31, 2026
• Participate in periodic mentoring check-ins, webinars, and a final presentation at JAWS CAMP
