Since 1949, the P.E.O. Sisterhood has championed the powerful idea that educating women is a fundamental step toward fostering international understanding and peace. The IPS Fund turns this belief into action by providing critical financial support to women scholars from around the world.
What is the IPS Scholarship?
The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship provides up to $12,500 per year to women who are citizens of countries outside the U.S. and Canada. This funding is designed for full-time graduate studies (master’s or doctoral levels) at accredited universities in the U.S. or Canada.
It’s important to note that the scholarship is awarded based on demonstrated financial need and is not intended to cover all expenses. Applicants must secure additional funding to complete their financial plan for study abroad.
Who is Eligible?
Before you get started, make sure you meet these core eligibility requirements:
- You must be a woman who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
- You must be pursuing a full-time, on-campus graduate degree program.
- You must intend to return to your home country upon completion of your studies.
- You are not eligible if you are enrolled in a distance learning program or your studies are already fully funded by another source.

- Eligibility Form Deadline: December 15, 2025
- Full Application Deadline: January 31, 2026
- Scholarship Award Period: The 2026–2027 academic year.
