IWG Global Summit 2026: Women & Girls in Sport

Established in 1994, the International Working Group (IWG) on Women and Sport advocates for and implements global programmes year-round, including the renowned Insight Hub. It developed and continues to serve as the guardian of the Brighton plus Helsinki 2014 Declaration, which now has the commitment of nearly 600 signatories worldwide. Every four years, the IWG hosts the World Conference on Women and Sport the largest global gathering dedicated to advancing gender equity and equality in sport and physical activity. The ninth edition of the IWG Global Summit will be held from 9–11 July 2026 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom. This major international event will bring together global leaders, athletes, policymakers, academics, and advocates to promote gender equity in sport.

The IWG Global Summit 2026 promises to be the world’s foremost gathering of leaders in sport, providing a platform for sharing best practices and the latest insights affecting women and girls in sport and physical activity. At the centre of the Summit is the Main Stage a space for bold ideas, global voices, and agenda-setting conversations. Here, powerful keynote sessions and high-impact dialogues will set the tone for the entire event. More than twenty carefully curated presentations will showcase fresh perspectives and celebrate progress across the landscape of gender equity and equality in sport and beyond.
