About the GovAI Summer Fellowship

The fellowship is an intensive, hands-on program for individuals driven to ensure artificial intelligence is developed and deployed safely and beneficially for humanity. Fellows will be based at the GovAI office in London, working alongside a dynamic cohort and gaining direct exposure to leading research and real-world policy processes.

Fellowship Tracks

Applicants must choose one of two tracks, which define their core project focus during the program:

1. Research Track: For those interested in in-depth academic or policy research. Fellows on this track will conduct an independent research project under the guidance of GovAI researchers. Projects might explore technical AI safety, international cooperation mechanisms, economic impacts, or ethical frameworks for AI deployment.
2. Applied Track: For those focused on implementation, strategy, and operations. Fellows on this track will work on applied projects, which could involve policy analysis for governments, designing governance frameworks for organizations, contributing to strategic communications, or developing educational resources.

Who Should Apply?

This program is designed for talented, early-career individuals from any academic or professional background who demonstrate a serious commitment to AI governance. Ideal candidates include:

• Current Master’s or PhD students.
