Scholarship Overview
The Social Science Excellence Scholarship is more than a financial grant; it is an investment in a student’s potential to become an agent of social change. Scholarship Details
Award Value: $1,500 (disbursed as a one-time payment to be used for tuition, books, accommodation, or other study-related expenses).
Eligible Fields of Study: All disciplines within the social sciences are welcome. This includes, but is not limited to:

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences
Political Science & International Relations
Economics & Development Studies
Social Work & Public Policy
Gender Studies, Human Geography, and Criminology

Study Level: Open to students entering or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (undergraduate) or Master’s (postgraduate) degree program.
Eligibility: The scholarship is open to international students who are defined as non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must be applying to or accepted into a full-time social science program at an accredited university or college located outside their home country.
Number of Awards: One (1) scholarship will be awarded for the 2026 academic intake.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must submit an original essay responding to the prompt:
“How do you plan to use your education in the social sciences to create meaningful change in your community or the wider world?”
Length: 300–650 words.
Content Focus: The essay should clearly articulate:
The specific social issue or area you are passionate about.
How your chosen social science discipline provides the tools to understand and address this issue.
A concrete plan or vision for the kind of change you want to drive, whether local, national, or global.
Your personal motivation and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.

Selection Criteria & Timeline
