About the Programme
The South China Sea International Conference of the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam is a leading regional maritime security forum held annually, which gathers a large number of prominent scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers on geopolitics and maritime issues. The conference series is paneled by leading experts and attracts broad attendance by local and international participants. The Young Leaders Programme is an activity under the Conference to provide a platform for the next generation of leaders to engage with complex issues surrounding the South China Sea and to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate these challenges in the years to come. Through this programme, we will bring together young potential leaders from across the region to exchange ideas, build networks, and learn from experts in the field. Becoming a participant of the Young Leaders Programme of the 18th South China Sea International Conference means being part of a network of scholars who are eager to contribute their thoughts for promoting peace, cooperation, and development in the South China Sea and the broader region called Indo-Pacific. Programme Highlights
This year’s programme provides the opportunity for young researchers interested in the South China Sea issue to participate in the Conference and follow presentations and discussions in each session. All Young Leaders will be able to contribute to the Conference in the most creative way in which they can suggest how to achieve a peaceful, stable, and prosperous South China Sea. More importantly, participating Young Leaders will have their Special Session at the Conference in which Young Leaders will present their policy pitch in front of their peers and the audience. Young Leaders will also participate in side events in which they can have a deep exchange with speakers at the South China Sea Conference about issues discussed at the Conference.
