Programme Benefits

The following benefits will be received by selected participants:

  • Practical knowledge on digital trade and e-commerce
  • Access to business development resources

  • Exposure to regional and cross-border trade opportunities

To help MSMEs improve competitiveness and expand their participation in digital markets, the programme is designed.

Why This Programme Matters

Across Africa, digital trade continues to create new opportunities for small businesses. In accessing markets, technology, financing, and business networks, however, women and youth entrepreneurs often face barriers. By providing entrepreneurs with practical skills, mentorship, and support needed to participate more effectively in local, regional, and international digital markets, programmes such as this help bridge these gaps. For MSMEs, strengthening digital capabilities can improve market reach, increase revenue opportunities, and enhance long-term business sustainability.

On topics such as the following, participants will receive training:

  • Digital trade fundamentals
  • E-commerce opportunities
  • Online marketing and branding
  • Digital business growth strategies
  • Cross-border trade opportunities
  • Gender-responsive business practices
  • Market access and customer engagement
  • Digital tools for MSME growth
  • Business resilience and sustainability

The following groups are targeted by the programme:

  • Women-led MSMEs
  • Youth-led MSMEs
