Applications are now being accepted for the ASEAN-UK Women in STEM Scholarships 2026 at Cranfield University. This fully funded initiative has been established to empower women pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields from eligible countries to undertake master’s degrees in the United Kingdom. Co-funding for the programme is provided by the British Council and the UK Mission to ASEAN, with a specific focus on talented female STEM students who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to creating meaningful impact within their countries of origin.

Who Is Eligible?

Consideration for this scholarship is open to:

• Women (as defined by UK legislation) who can demonstrate a robust academic foundation in STEM disciplines
• Passport holders and permanent residents of qualifying ASEAN nations, specifically:
• Brunei Darussalam
• Cambodia
• Indonesia
• Lao PDR
• Myanmar
• Philippines
• Singapore
• Thailand
• Timor-Leste

• Evidence of financial need must be provided, undergraduate qualifications must be completed by 13 July 2026, and Cranfield University’s academic entry standards must be satisfied
• A genuine dedication to advancing opportunities for women and girls in STEM within their home regions should be demonstrated by candidates

Important Note: Beyond ASEAN members, this particular scholarship does not currently extend to all Asian countries. Applicants from other regions should explore the broader British Council Women in STEM Scholarships scheme to determine alternative regional eligibility, such as for South Asia.

What the Scholarship Covers

Comprehensive funding is provided through this master’s scholarship, encompassing:

• Full payment of tuition fees
• Monthly living allowance (approximately £1,731 per month)
• Travel expenses
• Visa and health coverage costs

Through this complete package, recipients are enabled to dedicate themselves entirely to their UK postgraduate studies without financial distraction.
