Application Deadline: October 25, 2026
About the Position
beehiiv is an all-in-one newsletter and creator platform helping the next generation of media companies and independent voices launch, grow, and monetize their businesses. Tens of thousands of publishers use beehiiv to reach hundreds of millions of readers each month. With more than $30 million in annual recurring revenue, 100% year-over-year growth, and an expanding product suite including an ad network, website builder, and paid subscriptions beehiiv is entering its next phase of growth. As Senior Product Designer, Growth, you will shape the experiences that help users onboard, activate, convert, expand, and stay engaged with beehiiv. You will begin by taking ownership of early onboarding journeys, applying an experimentation-led approach to some of the most influential moments in the user experience. You will combine a strong understanding of growth and lifecycle design with qualitative research and quantitative insights. By investigating questions such as why users churn, what prevents activation, or what motivates an upgrade, you will turn complex problems into clear design hypotheses, deliver solutions quickly, and refine them based on results. You will partner closely with Product, Growth, and Engineering, collaborating with two product designers who lead the core platform experience.
Key Details
- Position: Senior Product Designer, Growth (Global)
- Company: beehiiv
- Location: Remote from anywhere
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Seniority: Senior (5–10 years)
- Compensation: USD 150,000 to 170,000 per year, depending on experience
Ideal Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a product designer, ideally with meaningful time spent on growth, activation, lifecycle, or monetization surfaces (not just core product/feature design)
- A track record of designing for experimentation comfortable scoping A/B tests, phased rollouts, and iterating quickly based on quantitative results, not just qualitative feedback
- Ability to take a vague, high-stakes problem (reducing churn, clarifying a downgrade flow, improving activation) and turn it into a crisp, testable design point of view
- Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills you can clearly explain design rationale and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders, including leadership
- Ability to read and analyze data, and use that to come up with hypotheses and inform your design decisions
- Prior experience in the newsletter/media/publishing/SaaS industry is a plus
- Strong organizational skills: able to work independently with little direction when necessary
- Genuine excitement about scaling a nascent platform
- An ownership mentality
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design across onboarding, activation, upsells, expansion and churn — the surfaces most directly tied to conversion and retention
- Partner with Product and Growth to turn user research, support signals, and product data into design hypotheses, then design and ship experiments to test them
- Redesign high-friction moments in the funnel (e.g. the in-app downgrade flow, trial-to-paid conversion, first-time activation) with a clear focus on reducing churn and improving conversion
- Work closely with senior product designers to stay consistent with beehiiv’s core design language while pushing a distinctly growth-oriented, test-and-learn approach
- Collaborate directly with engineering to scope design lift accurately and ship iteratively rather than waiting for “perfect”
- Present your thinking, rationale, and trade-offs to the product and leadership team, and incorporate feedback quickly
Why This Role Might Be for You
- Join a fast-growing start-up and help define a brand-new growth design practice from scratch
- High impact and high visibility your work shapes the first (and often last) impressions of every beehiiv user
- You’re autonomous and excited about owning projects end to end, from problem framing through shipped experiments
- Excited about new challenges and executing creative solutions in an ambiguous, fast-moving surface area
