About the Programme
Women Political Leaders (WPL) is a global network of female political leaders including presidents, ministers, and parliamentarians working to increase women’s participation in politics worldwide. The organisation is dedicated to advancing female leadership and promoting gender equality in political decision-making across the globe.
This Erasmus+ traineeship is a 6-month internship available in:
- Brussels, Belgium (in-person at the WPL Brussels Office)
- Remote / Hybrid format (flexible working arrangements available)
Interns gain hands-on experience in international policy work, stakeholder engagement, and global advocacy, working alongside a multicultural and multilingual team dedicated to advancing women’s political leadership.
Available Roles
Applicants can apply for roles such as:
- Project Management Assistant: Supporting project and event management, research, drafting invitations and briefings, logistical planning
- Data Analyst / Research Assistant: Supporting knowledge management, collection of monitoring data, events follow-up
- Partnerships Assistant: Engaging with stakeholders and supporting partnership development
- Communications Assistant: Drafting newsletters, social media messages, design and layout
Tasks & Responsibilities (General):
- Support to project and event management: research, drafting invitations and briefings, logistical planning
- Support to knowledge management: collection of monitoring data, events follow-up
- Support to communications activities: drafting of newsletter, drafting of social media messages, design and layout
- Administrative support: database management, office management

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must meet the following requirements:
General Requirements:
- Be in the process of completing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Be a current university student eligible for Erasmus+ mobility funding through your university
- Have strong communication skills (English required; fluency in French is desired and other major international languages are an advantage)
- Be available for full-time commitment (38 hours per week: 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday)
- Provide an internship agreement from your school/university
Desired Skills:
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of EU institutions, current affairs, and international relations
- Ability to use IT tools and software such as Microsoft Package (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of Salesforce is desirable
- Excellent writing skills

- Proactivity a ‘doer’ capable of driving projects in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with shifting priorities and occasional heavy workloads

Important Note: This is an Erasmus+ traineeship, meaning funding is not provided directly by WPL. You must secure Erasmus+ funding from your university or educational institution.

There is no central application portal. Instead, applicants must follow this process:

- Letter of motivation (no more than one page of A4)

Important Notes:
- You must arrange Erasmus+ funding through your university
- An internship agreement from your school must be provided
- Early application is strongly recommended as positions may fill quickly
- The traineeship requires a minimum commitment of 4 months (6 months preferred)

Funding:
- This is an Erasmus+ traineeship unding must be secured through your university
- WPL does not provide direct funding; you must be eligible for Erasmus+ mobility funding
