Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Status: Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident operating as an independent creator, or a Canadian-controlled production corporation
• Regional Focus: The applicant’s primary residence or head office must be located in Northern Alberta (with a focus on the Edmonton area)
• Project Role: The applicant must be the film’s Producer or Director
• Project Readiness: Projects must be ready for production at the time of application and completed by the end of the year

Important Restrictions:

• Greenlight Alberta participants are not permitted to submit proposals
• Greenlight participants are not permitted to act in key creative or operational roles of the production on set (such as Producer or Director)
• Projects must take place in Northern Alberta and include a specified number of crew members from the Greenlight Alberta trainee pool
