About the Program

To support early-stage founders and startups building with Claude, the Claude for Startups Program has been launched by Anthropic. Through community resources, events, and potential benefits that can accelerate startup growth, access is provided by the program. Several benefits are offered by the program, including Claude API credits, increased API capacity, access to startup communities, Anthropic-hosted events, and opportunities to stay informed about new products and model releases. For startups that intend to make Claude a meaningful component of their products or technical infrastructure, the program is particularly relevant. Joining the program does not automatically guarantee free credits. Between general participation in the startup program and eligibility for credits and additional benefits, Anthropic distinguishes. To be considered for these additional benefits, startups must satisfy the applicable qualification requirements.

Program Benefits

1. Free Claude Credits for Eligible Startups: One of the most significant benefits is the possibility of receiving free Claude credits. To apply for credits and priority rate limits, Anthropic specifically encourages venture-backed startups. For an early-stage startup building AI functionality into a product, API usage can become a significant development expense. Without immediately bearing the full API cost, credits can provide additional room for experimentation, testing, product iteration, and early customer deployment.

2. Priority and Higher API Rate Limits: Increased Claude API rate limits can also be received by eligible startups accepted for the applicable benefits. To its highest rate limits while they are using the startup credits, Anthropic upgrades qualifying participants. Without unnecessary throttling during the credit period, higher limits can help eligible startups deploy and scale their applications.

3. Access to the Claude Startup Community: Around founder community and collaboration, the program is designed. Through activities such as hackathons, Founder Days, Builder Days, meetups, demo nights, livestreams, Ask Me Anything sessions, and online events, participants can connect with other builders working with Claude.

4. Stay Close to Anthropic Product Developments: Among those who hear about Claude launches, new model releases, program benefits, startup-related opportunities, and Anthropic events, program participants may be. In the rapidly changing AI sector, this can be particularly useful.

Eligibility Requirements

General Participation: To join the broader Startups Program, any early-stage founder or startup building with Claude can apply. Not required, VC funding is.

Eligibility for Claude Credits and Additional Benefits:

• From an institutional investor, equity funding must have been received
• Within the last four years, founded must have been
• Previously, Anthropic startup credits must not have been received

Required for Application:

• A Claude Console account (API Console)
• A company email address
• A company website
• A short description explaining what the startup is building

Important Notes:

• Through AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or other third-party platforms, credits cannot be used
• To Anthropic’s first-party Claude API through the Claude Console, credits apply only
• After credits are exhausted or the applicable credit period ends, standard API pricing takes effect

What Can Startups Build With Claude?

• Claude API: Into their own software, platform, service, or workflow, allows developers to integrate Claude models directly into their applications, building Claude-powered capabilities.
• Claude Code: With software-development work across a codebase, assists developers, helping with tasks related to building, debugging, and shipping software.
• Claude Managed Agents: Using Model Context Protocol (MCP), code execution, and tool use, enables startups to create production agents.
• Claude Cowork: Delegating file work, research, and everyday tasks across tools that teams already use supports.

Step 2: Prepare your company email address and website

Step 3: Prepare a short description of your startup

Step 4: Include investor information where applicable (mention if backed by an Anthropic partner VC or accelerator)

Step 5: Submit the online application
