About the Grant

To innovative women who struggle to secure funding for their community-impacting small businesses, financial support is offered by the HerRise MicroGrant. For women entrepreneurs, the funding solution is designed to empower under-resourced women, including women of color entrepreneurs. Since 2017, by the Yva Jourdan Foundation, the non-profit arm of HerSuiteSpot, funds have been raised to help under-resourced women, including women of color entrepreneurs, access the non-equity capital they need to elevate their businesses to the next level. For financing particular small business needs, small business grants are useful. For computers, equipment, marketing materials, software purchase, website creation, and more, past recipients used their growth grants.

Grant Details

• Grant Amount: $1,000 each month
• Application Deadline: 11:59 PM on the last day of each month
• Selection: By the committee, one winner is selected each month from submitted applications
• Winner Announcement: At the next month’s HerSuiteSpot First Friday Mixer, winners are revealed (to be selected, you do not need to be present)

Eligibility Criteria

To under-resourced women, including women of color entrepreneurs, across a variety of industries, the HerRise MicroGrant is available.

Your business must:

• Be 51% owned by women
• Be currently registered in the US
• Have less than $1 million in gross revenue

Application Fee: Via secure checkout, a nonrefundable $15 administrative fee is payable. To review, process, and manage applications, the application process requires administrative resources. These administrative costs are helped to be offset by the fee, and that the organization can effectively handle the influx of applications is ensured.

Note: Only selected entrepreneurs receiving grants will be notified due to the overwhelming response.

Why This Grant Matters

Ten million workers are employed and $3.9 trillion in revenue is generated across the US by women-owned businesses, including those led by women of color. Due to funding disparities and representation barriers, yet significant challenges in accessing capital are faced by women. By providing monthly $1,000 grants to under-resourced women entrepreneurs, prioritizing women of color entrepreneurs who face systemic barriers to capital, requiring no equity the grant is non-dilutive funding, supporting businesses with less than $1 million in gross revenue targeting small businesses that may not qualify for larger grants or loans, and offering flexible use of funds – past recipients have used grants for computers, equipment, marketing, software, website creation, and more, the HerRise MicroGrant addresses these gaps. For under-resourced women entrepreneurs in the US, including women of color, whose businesses are at least 51% women-owned, registered in the US, and generating less than $1 million in annual revenue, a monthly opportunity to access non-equity capital is offered by the HerRise MicroGrant.
