About the Grants
JX Fund is currently accepting applications for its Promoting Entrepreneurship Grants and Consultancy Program for the year 2026. This initiative is specifically designed to support independent exiled media organizations that are committed to strengthening their financial stability and sustainability. Through this program, JX Fund offers vital financial assistance as well as expert consultancy services tailored to the unique needs of media outlets operating outside their home countries. The primary goal of the program is to help these media organizations improve their financial independence and resilience in a rapidly changing media landscape. By providing targeted support, the program aims to assist media entities in developing robust income strategies that can generate sustainable revenue streams well beyond the duration of the initial grant. Whether through establishing entirely new sources of revenue or enhancing existing income models, the program encourages innovative approaches to financial growth. Supported projects may include initiatives such as launching new digital products, diversifying funding sources, building audience engagement for monetization, or implementing effective business models. The overarching objective is to empower independent exiled media organizations to achieve long-term financial viability, ensuring their continued operation, independence, and ability to serve their communities effectively.
Funding Details: Of up to €35,000, selected applicants can receive funding.
Eligibility Requirements
From Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, and Syria, independent exiled media are invited by JX Fund to apply for financial support and expert consultations to develop innovative and sustainable revenue strategies. To establish new revenue streams for the media outlet or to strengthen existing ones should be the aim of the project. Supported, one-time income projects with no scalability strategy will not be.

In providing accurate information, countering disinformation, and upholding press freedom in contexts where journalists face persecution, censorship, or exile, independent exiled media play a critical role. With precarious financial models, relying on donor funding that may be unpredictable or short-term, yet these media outlets often operate. By providing funding up to €35,000 to develop sustainable revenue strategies, offering expert consultations alongside financial support, focusing on establishing new revenue streams or strengthening existing ones, requiring scalability – one-time projects without a path to sustainability are not supported, and targeting exiled media from specific countries where press freedom is under threat, the JX Fund’s Promoting Entrepreneurship Grants address this vulnerability. For independent exiled media from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, and Syria, financial support and expert guidance to build more resilient, financially independent organisations are offered by this programme.
