Why This Bursary Matters
A highly specialized field with a rigorous qualification pathway is actuarial science. Typically, years of study and professional examinations beyond university are required to become a qualified actuary. For many talented students, the cost of education, study materials, and exam fees can be prohibitive. By providing comprehensive financial support for the full duration of the degree (tuition, study materials, meals, accommodation, flights), guaranteed employment post-graduation at one of Africa’s leading financial services groups, personal development, vacation work, and networking opportunities, and additional incentives for excellent academic performance, Old Mutual’s Actuarial Science Bursary Programme addresses these barriers. For South African learners with strong academic records (80%+ in Mathematics, 70%+ in other subjects) who are committed to becoming actuaries, a fully funded pathway to a meaningful career at Old Mutual is offered by this bursary.
