About the Scholarship
For the 2026 One Young World Pernod Ricard Scholarship, applications are now being accepted. An interdisciplinary team of 10 committed young leaders working to build positive social spaces and tackle harmful drinking and its wider impacts in their countries and communities will be identified and connected through this scholarship. Full funding to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026, which takes place in Cape Town, South Africa from 3–6 November, will be received by scholars. As members of Pernod Ricard’s delegation, scholars will participate in the Summit, opportunities to help shape the company’s interventions at the event will be available to them, and expert mentorship to accelerate their initiatives will be received. In addition, to reflect on the future of socialising, post-Summit collective thinking sessions will be participated in by scholars. Young leaders from every country are brought together by One Young World, a global forum, to work towards a better world. To ensure that young leaders working on issues related to social spaces, harmful drinking, and community well-being can attend the Summit and contribute their perspectives, the Pernod Ricard Scholarship is designed.
Eligibility Requirements
Pernod Ricard’s ambition to encourage positive social occasions and tackle harmful drinking will be shared by successful applicants. Through their own projects, as emerging leaders in larger organisations, through their own work and experience, or by contributing to collective understanding through research, an active impact in support of these goals will be made by them.
Relevant activities include:
- Initiatives that aim to promote balance and moderation
- Prevention and education initiatives that aim to reduce excessive alcohol consumption
- Prevention initiatives that aim to reduce social harm
- Projects that tackle the harmful impacts of excessive alcohol consumption
- Projects that encourage the bringing together of communities, the savoir être of being together, and educational initiatives around social inclusion and fighting isolation
- Projects that improve physical and psychological safety in social environments
- Research into habits and the behavioural patterns of Gen Z, trends in socializing, including the role of alcohol in this socializing
Additional requirements:
- Of legal drinking age in their country of residence at the time of their application, candidates must be
- To contribute to collective post-Summit thinking sessions alongside other scholarship recipients, availability to commit is required from candidates
Scholarship Benefits
Comprehensive support for their participation is received by selected scholars:
- Participation in the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town as a Pernod Ricard delegate
- Hotel accommodation in Cape Town between 2–6 November (inclusive) 2026
- The cost of travel to and from Cape Town (flights in economy class)
- Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue
- Access to Pernod Ricard professionals in their field on the basis of needs and consultancy
- Collaboration with other scholars to influence Pernod Ricard’s thinking on socialising and efforts to reduce excessive alcohol consumption
- Opportunity to make your voice heard through the collective sessions with guest speakers

Young leaders who meet the following criteria are sought by Pernod Ricard:
- A clear commitment to promoting positive social occasions and tackling harmful drinking is demonstrated
- Through projects, organisational leadership, work experience, or research, an active impact is already being made
- To interdisciplinary collaboration with the other 9 scholars, contribution can be made
- In post-Summit collective thinking sessions to shape the future of socialising, willingness to participate is demonstrated
- Pernod Ricard’s approach to socialising and alcohol consumption can be influenced by ideas and perspectives
Why This Scholarship Matters
Globally, harmful drinking and its wider impacts remain significant social challenges, affecting individuals, families, and communities. Innovative approaches to promote balance and moderation, prevent excessive consumption, reduce social harm, and create safer social environments are being developed by young leaders around the world. Yet access to global platforms, mentorship, and networks that could amplify their impact is often lacking for these leaders.
These gaps are addressed by the Pernod Ricard Scholarship through several approaches:
