About the Scholarship
WeTech, in partnership with Grow with Google and Coursera, is offering fully funded Google Career Certificate scholarships for over 200 young African women. This is a massive opportunity for women looking to break into tech or level up their professional skills with industry-recognized credentials. WeTech (Women Enhancing Technology) is a program of the nonprofit Institute of International Education (IIE) dedicated to increasing women’s participation in technology fields. Through this partnership with Google and Coursera, the program removes financial barriers and provides access to high-quality, career-focused training that prepares participants for entry-level roles in high-demand tech fields.
Available Career Certificates
Scholarships are available for career-focused training designed to help you build in-demand skills across:
- Cybersecurity – Protect networks, devices, and data from attacks
- Project Management – Lead projects, manage teams, and deliver results
- UX Design – Create user-centered digital experiences
- IT Support – Troubleshoot and solve technical problems
- Data Analytics – Collect, transform, and organize data to inform decisions
- Digital Marketing & E-commerce – Drive customer engagement and online sales
Each certificate is developed by Google and hosted on Coursera. The programs are self-paced, typically taking 3-6 months to complete, and prepare learners for entry-level jobs in these high-growth fields.
