What to Expect

The programme combines structured learning with hands‑on experience to prepare you for a career at the forefront of technology and digital finance. Key components include:

  • Foundational Onboarding: An introduction to MoMo’s business, culture, and digital strategy to help you hit the ground running.
  • Technical Academies: In‑depth training across high‑demand areas such as Cloud, Data & AI, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Networks & Infrastructure.
  • Rotations: Placement across diverse technical and commercial units to build a well‑rounded understanding of the business.
  • Real Project Assignments: Hands‑on delivery of business‑impacting technology projects, giving you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully from day one.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Guidance from senior engineers and people leaders who are invested in your growth.
  • Professional Certification Support: Access to learning platforms and structured pathways to earn industry‑recognised certifications.
  • Performance Checkpoints: Quarterly reviews and personalised development planning to track progress and align with career goals.

Key Responsibilities

Throughout the 12 months, you will:

  • Uphold MoMo PSB policies, including confidentiality, information security, ethical conduct, and responsible use of systems and development environments.
  • Actively participate in technical and professional development activities, applying learning to build competence in software development, systems support, application management, and digital tools.
  • Assist teams with coding tasks, application testing, debugging, documentation, and basic system analysis during rotations across IT functions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on technology‑enabled projects, supporting process improvements, data gathering, user requirements, and solution development.
  • Gain exposure to leadership interactions through select meetings, demos, or project reviews, and support with preparing technical briefs, progress updates, or presentations.
  • Contribute to departmental and organisational activities, participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions, and support IT operational tasks as assigned to strengthen business and technology understanding.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field
  • Must have completed NYSC (or be in the final stages of completion)

Experience: 0–2 years of post‑NYSC experience

Skills

  • Foundational programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL)
  • Basic understanding of software development, APIs, debugging, testing, and version control (Git)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Introductory knowledge of systems, databases, cloud concepts, and IT infrastructure
  • Good communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and a willingness to learn quickly
  • A user‑centric mindset and an understanding of how technology supports business needs
