About the Programme
The OSCE Women’s Peace Leadership Programme is now accepting applications for its 4th edition. Organized by the OSCE Secretariat’s Gender Issues Programme under the WIN project, this one-year initiative will target up to 20 women who are active in peacebuilding and/or conflict resolution in the OSCE area. The programme focuses heavily on “Leveraging Digital Tools for Comprehensive Security” and aims to strengthen participants’ leadership capabilities and practical digital skills to support peacebuilding on comprehensive security and democratic resilience. The programme will also support career development and provide access to professional networks and opportunities.
The programme runs from May 2026 to May 2027 and is delivered through a combination of online and in-person activities. The OSCE Women’s Peace Leadership Programme addresses a critical need: strengthening the ability of women to meaningfully engage and influence peace processes at all levels. The promotion of women’s meaningful participation in peace and security decision-making is a key priority for the OSCE. This programme is the first strategic deliverable of the Networking Platform for Women Leaders, including Peacebuilders and Mediators, launched by OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid in December 2021. It connects dozens of women peacebuilders and mediators, including from conflict-affected areas, fostering a powerful network of professionals committed to peace and security across the OSCE region.
Programme Components & Commitment
To successfully complete the programme, participants must commit to all of the following components:
- 6 online workshops (2 hours each)
- 6 online community of practice sessions
- One week of full-time, in-person training in Austria (September 2026)
Programme Benefits
The programme’s modules and activities will be designed following consultations with selected participants to ensure they reflect participants’ needs. Participants will benefit from:
- Tailored career online coaching sessions and peer-to-peer exchanges focused on leveraging digital tools for comprehensive security
- Opportunities to engage with decision-makers and other influential actors using digital tools as a means of empowerment and participation
- Online and in-person training on relevant topics, such as the role of digital tools in peacebuilding, communication, and leadership
- Networking events with international peace and security professionals
- Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) to fully cover travel, food, and accommodation costs when attending the one-week training in Austria
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
- Gender: Applicants must be female citizens of an OSCE participating State or Partner for Cooperation
- Age: 25 – 45 years old (at time of application)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working on digital tools for peace, security, development, or related areas
- Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Current Engagement: Currently involved in working within the OSCE region in these fields
- Commitment: Clear interest in and commitment to gender equality in relation to digital environments
- Availability: Must be available to participate in the entire programme for its duration, including all components as outlined
Ineligible Applicants:
- Current employees of the OSCE Secretariat, OSCE Institutions, or OSCE Field Operations
- Alumni of previous editions of this specific programme
