Application Deadline: April 30, 2026.
First Harvest Credit Union is pleased to announce the opening of its 2026 Scholarship Program, designed to support students in achieving their academic goals. Six graduating high school senior members will be awarded scholarships of $2,000 each, for a total disbursement of $12,000. The recipients of the First Harvest Scholarship will be chosen through a holistic review process conducted by the 2026 Scholarship Committee. This process will carefully evaluate each applicant’s academic achievement and scholarly merit, their involvement in the community and extracurricular activities, and the strength of a mentor’s reference letter. In addition, applicants must fulfill all program eligibility requirements and submit an original essay addressing how young adults can use financial institutions to build a path toward financial independence, which will also be a key factor in the selection.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a First Harvest Credit Union member in good standing, with an account in their own name opened on or before April 30, 2026.
- Possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5.
- Be a graduating high school senior who has received formal acceptance to an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or trade, technical, or business school.
- Not be an employee, volunteer, or an immediate family member of an employee or volunteer of First Harvest Credit Union, First Harvest Investment Solutions, its Supervisory Committee, or its Board of Directors.
A Message from Leadership
“As the cost of higher education continues to rise, we recognize the growing need for financial assistance and believe deeply in investing in our future community leaders,” said Mike Dinneen, President & CEO of First Harvest Credit Union. “This annual scholarship is our commitment to alleviating some of the financial pressure our student-members face. We believe there is no greater investment a credit union can make than in the education and development of its own members.”
