Innovative and financially viable projects aimed at improving the livelihoods of smallholders, restoring ecosystems, and creating inclusive commodity value chains in developing countries are now being sought by the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) in its latest call for proposals. The alignment of commercial success with social inclusion and environmental sustainability is championed by the CFC. Access to markets, increased incomes, and biodiversity protection for farmers and local enterprises are the goals of our financial support.
About the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC)
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is an impactful intergovernmental financial institution dedicated to fostering commodity development in lower-income countries. Our establishment took place within the framework of the United Nations, with the purpose of tackling vulnerabilities in economies that depend on commodities. We provide financing for sustainable and innovative business solutions that empower producers, fortify communities, and contribute to building a more resilient and fairer global commodity sector.

Vision: We envision a diversified and resilient commodity sector that propels sustainable economic growth and enhances livelihoods in developing countries.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include:
- Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives
- Social enterprises and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Public or private sector entities
Eligibility Requirements
- Operation must be based in, or actively conducted within, one of CFC’s 101 member countries.
- A minimum of three years of relevant operational experience must be demonstrated.
- Projects put forward must be both financially viable and scalable.
Strategic Focus Areas
Priority is given by CFC to projects addressing one or more of these areas:
- Trade finance solutions that connect smallholders to global markets.
- The conservation of biodiversity and the practice of regenerative agriculture.
- Local value addition characterized by a low environmental impact.
- The application of digital and agri-technology to foster transparent value chains.
- Enhanced financial access for smallholder farmers.
- Business models that are gender-responsive and enterprises led by women.
Priority consideration will be extended to:
- Initiatives in the Congo Basin concentrating on the sustainable use of forest resources.
- Applications originating from or providing benefits to Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

- Deadline: 1 April 2026
- Submission Language: English only
- Required Documents: A fully completed application form and a balance sheet and income statement
Note: While reference versions of forms can be accessed in multiple languages, the final submission must be prepared in English.
