The Diaspora Youth Internship Programme 2026 is currently accepting applications for a distinctive, paid, and fully remote professional development opportunity. Funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) is making three specialized remote internship positions available. This initiative is specifically tailored for young professionals from diaspora communities, enabling them to acquire hands-on, practical experience across several key sectors of international cooperation, including global development, policy-oriented research, strategic communications, and institutional capacity building.

Available Internship Roles
Candidates may apply for one of three distinct professional tracks, each designed to cultivate expertise in a vital operational area:

• Capacity Development Intern: Focused on supporting the design and delivery of training, knowledge-sharing tools, and programmes that strengthen diaspora organizations and their development impact.
• Research Intern: Centered on contributing to analytical work, data collection, and the production of reports and policy briefs on diaspora engagement and migration-related topics.
• Communications Intern: Dedicated to assisting with content creation, digital outreach, social media management, and the production of multimedia materials to amplify the programme’s visibility and impact.

Programme Duration & Conditions
The internship constitutes a five-month, intensive engagement period, commencing in March 2026. In recognition of the participants’ commitment and contribution, a competitive monthly stipend of €1,000 will be granted. The entire programme is structured around a fully remote work model, leveraging digital collaboration tools to connect interns with the international team, thereby offering maximum flexibility and inclusivity.

Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates must carefully review and fulfill the following mandatory conditions:

• Geographic Requirement: Applicants must be legally based and reside for the full internship duration within the territory of an EU Member State, Switzerland, or Norway.
• Academic Status: Eligibility is extended to individuals who are currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (Master’s level or equivalent) or who are recent graduates of such a programme.
• Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in English is an absolute requirement for all roles, as it is the primary working language. Proficiency in any additional languages is considered a significant asset.
• Core Competencies: Applicants must demonstrate strong, verifiable skills pertinent to their chosen track be it in analytical research, effective written and verbal communication, or digital content creation.
• Work Ethic: Given the virtual setting, a proven ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and engage proactively in a digital environment is essential for success.

Interested individuals must adhere strictly to the following schedule:

• Application Deadline: All required documents must be received by 23 December 2025, at 12:00 Central European Time (CET). Late submissions will not be considered.
• Programme Commencement: Selected interns will embark on their roles in March 2026, with a specific start date to be confirmed upon selection.
