This initiative is designed to equip participants with tangible skills, industry insights, and pathways to sustainable employment or entrepreneurship. We strongly encourage women and persons with disabilities to apply and take advantage of this transformative opportunity.
About the Program
The PQ (Precision Quality) Internship is a nationwide, industry-driven youth-employability scheme in Ghana, supported by the Design & Technology Institute (DTI), Mastercard Foundation, Accents & Art Ltd. (A&A), and a growing network of technical universities and trade associations. Unlike programs limited to specific universities, it welcomes applicants from various institutions and backgrounds. This six-month, fully-funded program combines classroom learning with paid, hands-on experience in welding, garment manufacturing, and hotel operations. Launched in 2021 by the Design & Technology Institute with funding from the Mastercard Foundation, it targets young residents aged 18-30 who are eager to meet industry standards rather than accumulate academic credits. Training takes place at Accents & Art’s workshops in Accra and partner manufacturing plants. Outreach and candidate referrals are coordinated through all ten public Technical Universities Koforidua, Takoradi, Kumasi, Ho, Sunyani, Cape Coast, Tamale, Wa, Bolgatanga, and Accra as well as key trade organizations such as the Ghana Hotels Association and the Garment & Textile Manufacturers Network.
